XAT 2022 Exam Live Updates: Result date, score vs percentile, cut off, paper analysis (Released)

As per the XAT exam analysis 2022, students reveal that a score of 25-30 in XAT 2022 can fetch a 95+ percentile. Out of 100 questions in MCQ format, 25 questions are in the GK section. This section in the XAT exam is not counted for calculation of percentile calculation.

The percentile in XAT is dependent on the following three factors: the number of test-takers in XAT 2022, the difficulty level of the exam, the number of attempted questions, and the accuracy of your attempts. Based on these factors, the XAT result will be calculated which will reflect your expected XAT 2022 percentile. Apart from the overall percentile, some B-schools consider your sectional percentile in XAT. By the time, the XAT result is declared, candidates should be ready for further selection rounds like GD, GE, WAT, and PI. In addition to the XAT percentile, their profile and score in the subsequent rounds play a significant role in the final selection. 

XAT 2022 Percentientile Calculation Process

• First, calculate the total number of students (N) who appeared in the XAT exam 2022.
• Provide ranking (r), to all students who appeared in XAT 2022 exam based on the measured score obtained in the Decision-Making section.
• Calculate the percentile score (P) of the students with ranking (r) in the Decision Making section as follows;
  • P = ( (N-r)/N ) x 100
• Now, round the XAT 2022 percentile score up to two decimal points.
• For example, the XAT percentile is 89.995% means, it should be rounded to 90%.

The XAT 2022 cut off will be different for males and females as well as for candidates belonging to engineering and non-engineering backgrounds. Here are some factors on which XAT 2022 cutoff will depend -

• XAT exam difficulty level - If the XAT paper is too difficult, then one could expect a lower cutoff

• Number of XAT 2022 applicants - If the number of XAT applicants is high, it will lead to a higher cutoff. 

• Availability of seats - If seats are more than the applicants, then lower XAT cut off can be expected 

Once the XAT 2022 result is announced, XLRI Jamshedpur will release the XAT overall and sectional cutoff, considering the factors listed above.

XAT 2022 cutoff will be announced after the declaration of the XAT result. XAT 2022 cutoff is expected to be released in the last week of January. XLRI Jamshedpur will release the overall as well as the sectional cutoff. XAT cutoff will differ for males and females and engineering and non-engineering backgrounds.  

There are multiple factors that affect XAT 2022 cutoff; some of them include XAT exam difficulty level, XAT previous year cutoff, number of XAT 2022 applicants, availability of seats, and so on. Candidates can check the XAT result and cutoff online on XAT official website using their login credentials.     

Some of the candidates who appeared at Noida XAT 2022 test centre say that they faced organisational set up issues there. One of the students was quoted saying, "In the last 15 minutes, my keyboard stopped working." Another students says, "Even pens were not provided, rough sheets too were not provided on time, it was a complete mess."

Candidates who appeared for XAT 2022, define the paper as between easy to moderate level. As per the XAT 2022 exam analysis, the Quantitative Aptitude section was easier. However, the difficulty level of Data Interpretation was higher. XAT DI section was reasoning-based as in the CAT exam. XAT 2022 VARC section was also doable. There were two essay topics namely Capitalism and Democracy, Setback, management and academics. Overall there were 101 questions with 100 MCQs and 1 descriptive question. The XAT paper pattern was the same as released on the official XAT website, xatonline.in.

As compared to the previous year, in an anonymous poll, candidates say the difficulty level of XAT 2022 was between easy to moderate. Neither did the XAT exam have the same level of difficulty as per the previous year's XAT question paper nor was it on higher terms of difficulty.

XAT 2022 exam has been successfully conducted today by XLRI, Jamshedpur. The XAT question paper was in accordance with the XAT 2022 exam pattern announced by XLRI. XAT results are expected to be released in the last week of January, which will be followed by the initiation of the selection process in February 2022. Candidates will need their XAT registration and password to log in and check their XAT result 2022. It will mention the marks of the candidates, sectional percentile and over percentile. XAT exam time duration this year is 190 minutes. Upto the past 3 years, the XAT duration was 180 minutes. This is a remarkable change that has been observed this year in XAT 2022. Basically a new section, Essay writing has also been added this year along with the 100 MCQs. Hence XAT exam began at 9:30 am and will conclude at 12:40 pm.

Top MBA colleges accepting XAT score

XAT 2022 exam is being conducted today across India for admission in MBA programmes. More than 160 institutions in PAN India accept XAT scores. XAT exam is held in more than 73 cities in India and around 75,000 candidates are expected to appear for XAT. Some of the major cities in which XAT 2022 is being conducted include - Allahabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Raipur, Indore, Hyderabad, Surat, Pune, Varanasi, Udaipur, Warangal, Tiruvallur,  and many other cities. It is to be noted that no request has been entertained for a change of XAT exam centre.

XLRI Jamshedpur has changed the XAT 2022 exam pattern and as per the latest circular issued by the institute, here is the revised paper pattern. 

In 2021, the overall XAT cut off percentile of Business Management (BM) programme for male students was 94 and of Human Resource Management (HRM) programme for male engineering students was 93. For female students XAT 2021 cut off percentile for BM was 92 and for HRM it was 90. This year too XAT cutoff is expected to be on the same terms.

In the ongoing XAT exam, candidates are witnessing questions from Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation and General Knowledge.

XAT Syllabus 2022

As mentioned in the instructions on the candidates' screen, the XAT 2022 marking scheme is as follows:

• One mark will be awarded for each right answer

• 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer

• 0.10 marks will be deducted for more than eight unanswered consecutive questions

• There will be no negative marking in the General Knowledge section

• Scores of General Knowledge section will not be considered for calculating XAT score 

Candidates have logged in to their systems in the examination hall for XAT 2022. They were first required to read all the instructions carefully and are advised not to touch the keyboard while writing the exam. This will result in the lock of the computer system. Candidates are seen facing no major technical glitches. They are seated at a distance and every table has been sanitised in accordance with the covid-19 safety measures. The XAT exam will end at 12:40 pm.

XAT 2022 exam is scheduled to be conducted today on January 02, 2021. The XAT 2022 center reporting time was at 8.00 am. The XAT exam will start at 9.30 am and will get over at 12.40 pm. The guards have now closed the entry gates at 9.20 and no candidate will be allowed to enter the XAT exam center now.

Candidates appearing for the XAT 2022 exam must adhere to the dress code in order to avoid hassle at the examination center. Candidates must opt for simple dressing with plain sweaters and cardigans. It is to be noted that items containing metal are strictly prohibited at the XAT 2022 test centre. Candidates must avoid carrying any jewelry, electronic devices, heavy jackets, etc., at the XAT 2022 exam center, as it will not be allowed inside the hall. If candidates carry any such thing, they must leave it outside the XAT exam premises. It is to be noted that there will be no locker facility at the center.

All the covid-19 measures are being followed at the XAT test centre and candidates are requested to follow the covid appropriate behaviour at the examination center. Candidates must carry their own mask, personal hand sanitizer of around 50 ml, gloves, a transparent water bottle, and a simple pen to the examination center. It is to be noted that in addition to the items listed above, only XAT 2022 documents are allowed in the XAT 2022 exam centre. The temperature of XAT aspirants is checked at the time of entry using a thermal gun and candidates exceeding the temperature limit are not allowed to enter the premises.

Candidates appearing for XAT 2022 exam must keep the general exam day guidelines in mind, have a look - 

• Candidates must reach the examination before the reporting time. 

• Candidates must carry a printed copy of the XAT 2022 admit card. 

• Candidates must carry government ID proof such as Driving License, PAN Card, Voter ID card, and Passport.

• Candidates must not carry any electronic devices, smart gadgets, jewelry, etc., at the examination center as it will not be allowed inside the center and there will be no locker facility available.

• Candidates must carry their own hand sanitizer, pen, and water bottle. 

• Candidates should follow Covid appropriate behavior at all times inside the XAT test centre.

Candidates will be provided with rough sheets and a pen inside the XAT 2022 exam center; hence candidates need not carry any of it. However, candidates are allowed to carry a simple pen inside the XAT examination center. It is to be noted that candidates will be asked to submit the rough sheet along with the admit card after the completion of the XAT 2022 examination to the invigilator. 

Students along with the parents have arrived at least an hour before the reporting time. XAT reporting time was 8:00 am. Also, the XAT instructions are placed on the wall clearly stating that candidates must not carry with them any electronic gadgets. The guidelines related to covid-19 are mentioned outside the gate at the XAT test centre 2022. XAT gate closure timing is 9:20 am.

Candidates must carry the following items to the XAT test centre:

• A ballpoint pen, two copies of the XAT admit card, photo ID and a passport size photo.

• Carry a face mask, hand sanitiser and drinking water.

• Self-attest self-declaration form before reaching the test centre.

• Reach the XAT exam centre as per the reporting time mentioned on the admit card of XAT.

• Wear simple outfits with plain cardigans and sweaters.

• Don’t carry any stationery item other than a pen. Don’t carry electronic items including mobile phones, pager, watch, iPad and calculators.

XAT exam duration has changed this year as compared to the past two years. The test duration is 3 hours 10 minutes whereas earlier it used to be three hours. An additional section of essay writing has been added this year in the XAT exam. There will be multiple-choice questions and one descriptive question, which is an essay question.

XLRI Jamshedpur is conducting Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) today on January 02, 2022, in computer-based mode. XAT exam will be conducted from 9:30 am to 12:40 pm. Earlier the duration of the XAT test was 180 minutes which has now been increased to 190 minutes. XAT exam 2022 is being held in over 72 test cities across India. Candidates must reach the XAT test centre at least an hour before the reporting time so that they can easily go through the frisking process and other covid-19 formalities.
