Try NowNEW DELHI: The Xavier School of Management (XLRI), Jamshedpur has successfully concluded the XAT exam 2023 today, January 8. XAT was held as a computer-based test in 78 cities across the country. As per the candidates who appeared for the XAT exam, is out. The candidates found the exam to be moderately difficult. XAT answer key and response sheet will be released in the second week of January 2023.

According to Dr Vishwa Ballabh, Convener of XAT and XLRI Jamshedpur Admission Chair, Around 9800 candidates filled the Xavier Aptitude Test form. Out of total registered candidates, 85000 applicants took the exam. The paper had a total of 101 questions - 100 multiple choice questions from 4 sections and 1 essay question. As per the XAT exam analysis shared by candidates, the difficulty level of the exam was similar to last year. The paper was moderate to difficult, with a few questions extremely difficult. According to the XAT exam pattern, there was a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer and there was no section time limit.
Sectional XAT exam analysis
Each section had different number of questions. In Verbal and Logical Ability, there were a total of 26 multiple choice questions, with more questions from VA ( 16 MCQs) and Reading Comprehension ( 14 MCQs) while the Decision Making section had a total 21 multiple choice questions. In Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation (QADI), there were 28 questions.
As the exam was held in a single shift, the XAT result will be announced without applying a normalisation process. After the announcement of XAT 2023 result, various institutes accepting XAT scores will release the cutoff for admission. XLRI Jamshedpur cut off is expected to be around 95 to 99 percentile. However, candidates also need to get the sectional cutoff in order to qualify for further rounds of the admission process such as Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). XAT result date is expected in the last week of January 2023.
