The XAT question paper will comprise four sections: Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning (VA and LR), Decision-making (DM), Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation (QA and DI), and General Knowledge (GK).

“The questions are designed to assess the quantitative aptitude of candidates who possess foundational understanding of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, mensuration, modern Maths, etc. The questions on DI are about clear interpretation, summarization, and insightful analysis of the data,” XLRI said.

The Decision Making section in XAT 2026 question paper will present scenarios drawn from both personal and professional contexts. As per the exam pattern, XLRI Jamshedpur said candidates are expected to apply critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and prioritisation to make informed decisions.

The verbal ability and logical reasoning (VALR) section in XAT question paper 2026 will have approximately 26 questions. The important topics in VALR section is:

• Critical and analytical reasoning,
• Reading comprehension, including poems, cartoons, and passages etc,
• Vocabulary,
• English grammar,
• Para jumbles,
• Cloze tests
• and other related exercises.

XLRI Jamshedpur is expected to issue the XAT admit card 2025 on the official website, xatonline.in. However, the XAT hall ticket is likely to be delayed and released on December 26, as per previous years' trends.

As per the XAT 2026 marking scheme, candidates will be given 1 mark for each correct response, and 0.25 marks will be deducted for wrong answer. However, if more than 8 questions are left unanswered, 0.10 marks will be deducted. Also, there's no negative marking in the GK section of the paper.
