NEW DELHI, JULY 30: Samarthya, the youth research wing at XLRI-Xavier School of Management, organised a career counselling fair for 500 school students in Jamshedpur to help them make informed decisions about their future career options.
Career counsellors and professionals provided the students with information about different career paths.
Students and parents had one-on-one interaction with the counsellors regarding their subjects of interest. Professionals from different fields shared their experiences with the students on what made them choose their careers.
Tushar Kabir, one of the professionals, spoke to students on why he chose farming as a career and explained how new technology has changed farming into a well-paying profession.
The counselling fair gave information on off-beat career options like sports, photography, forestry to standardised ones in the fields of engineering and medicine. A psychometric test was also conducted for the school students to help them gauge their interests.
