4 BHU professors conferred with CNR Rao education foundation award
The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has conferred the award on the professors for their contribution towards research.

NEW DELHI: The Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi has conferred the Professor CNR Rao Education Foundation Award on four of its faculty members on Monday. The professors have received the award for contributing immensely to the field of research. The award carries a cash prize and a citation.
The list of awardees are- BHU, head of botany department of the university, Ravi Kumar Asthana, has been conferred with the award for the academic year 2018-19, while for the year 2019-20, the award is being given to the head of chemistry department of BHU, Maya Shankar Singh.

Adding to the list, faculty member at the Institute of Environment and Sustainable development, Rajeev Pratap Singh has been named for the award for the academic year 2020-21, while professor at Molecular Biology unit of the Institute of Medical sciences, Sunit Kumar Singh will be given the award for academic year 2021-22.
In December 2022, the university had called for the nomination of those faculty members from various institutes, who are faring well in the direction of research work. The award is given to those who make significant contributions in the pure and applied sciences disciplines, including basic sciences, agriculture and engineering and technology.
While congratulating the winners, BHU vice-chancellor Sudhir Kumar Jain said, "The university will take all possible measures to encourage and facilitate its members in the quest of excellence."
