Candidates can apply for the four-year BTech in computer science and engineering (CSE) and BTech in electronics and communication engineering (ECE) through the official portal before May 20, 2025.

“Applicants must have appeared for JEE (Main) in 2025. The total percentile in this exam is mandatory for application to this mode of admission. For candidates who attempt the JEE Main exam more than once in 2025 (as there are 2 sessions), the best percentile of the attempts as reported by National Testing Agency (NTA) will be considered,” as per the official notification by the IIIT Hyderabad.

Candidates, those who have scored 60% aggregate or more in maths, physics, and chemistry in Class 12 or equivalent qualifying exams by July 2025 are eligible to apply for the courses.

Applicants should have to report their JEE Main 2025 percentiles, application number and score card with the institute.

The institute will first consider Maths percentile, followed by physics and then chemistry to resolve the ties among the applications in the total percentile, from the corresponding tests before ranking all applicants, the institute said.

Any ties at the subject level among applicants will be handled by assigning the same rank to the applicants who will then be treated on par. Class 12 marks have no bearing on the ranking and seat allotment, it added.

IIIT Hyderabad Admission 2025: Application fee

The application fee to register for the BTech courses at the institute for all category candidates except girls is Rs 2,500, while female applicants should have to pay Rs 1,500 as registration fee.

Notably, the institute has clarified that the application fee is non-refundable and any incomplete or incorrect forms may be rejected without further processing.

“IIITH values diversity among its student population and strives to increase the same. Continuing the successful initiative started in recent years, the Institute targets at least 25% of the students admitted in the JEE mode to be girls,” the institute added.

Number of seats

A total of 100 seats are sanctioned for BTech in CSE, whereas 70 seats are reserved for BTech in ECE programme. These will be divided into two pools: 75% of total seats will be assigned to the common pool and 25% of seats will be assigned to the diversity pool.

Notably, all the applicants are eligible for seats in the common pool, while only female candidates, whose JEE Main score will be in top 1% percentile are eligible for the diversity pool, the institute said.

Furthermore, a single rank list of all the applicants in the JEE mode will be used for seat allotment and during seat allotment, the diversity pool will be filled first.

Only after these seats are exhausted will a female applicant be considered for an available seat in the common pool, as per the official notice.
