8.51 lakh candidates appear for HSSC CET 2023 Group D exam; 25 impersonators arrested

The NTA caught 13 impersonator today during the HSSC CET 2023.

NEW DELHI: A total of 8.51 lakh candidates have appeared on the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) Common Eligibility Test (CET 2023) for Group D posts. The exam was conducted in 18 cities on October 21 and 22.

The exam was conducted in two shifts on both the days. A total of 13,76,183 candidates had registered for the examination, of which 62.59% aspirants appeared for the exam.

As many as 8,48,216 male and 5,27,967 female candidates had registered for the CET 2023 for Group D posts.

The exam was conducted by the National Testing Agency for the HSSC. The NTA said that 13 Impersonators – three in Hissar, three in Palwal, one each in Sirsa, Faridabad, Chandigarh, Fatehabad, Karnal, Rewari and Kaithal – were caught today. The agency had handed them over to the police.

Twelve Impersonators across the state were caught yesterday by the NTA officials. NTA had deployed state-of-the-art artificial intelligence (AI) technology, iFace to ascertain the identity of candidates through cross verifying the photo on the admit card with the live photograph of the candidate that is taken at the exam centre.

“The Haryana state and district administrations deployed a large number of executive officers, police officers and observers and flying squads to facilitate smooth conduct of the examination. Arrangements were also made by the state Government for hassle free transportation and stay of candidates,” it added.
