JEE Mains Result 2026 Updates: AI, computer science fuel enrolment boom

According to the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Maharashtra, Karnataka, and West Bengal recorded the highest enrolment rates in engineering and technology programmes for 2024–25, with nationwide intake reaching a five-year peak of 75%.

However, academics caution that this surge—largely fuelled by growing demand for computer science and related disciplines—could prove short-lived, warning that advances in artificial intelligence may reduce job opportunities in these fields over the next two to three years.
