NEW DELHI: The Indian Air Force (IAF) will close the application window for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 2024 today, June 28. As per the official notice, the AFCAT 2024 exam is scheduled to be held from August 9 to 11. Eligible candidates should fill out the AFCAT 2024 application form by visiting the official website, afcat.cdac.in.

Candidates will be able to download the AFCAT 2024 admit card from July 24 onwards through the official website. The AFCAT 2024 exam is conducted to fill a total of 317 posts in the flying branch, ground duty (technical) branch, and ground duty (non-technical) branch.

Candidates registering for AFCAT 2024 exam will need to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 550. However, candidates from the National Cadet Corps (NCC) special entry are exempt from this fee.

AFCAT 2024: Age limit

Candidates can check the post-wise age limit for the AFCAT 2024 exam given below.

  • Flying Branch: The Candidate's age should be between 20 years old and 24 years old as of July 1 2025. Candidate should be born between July 2, 2001 and July 1, 2005 (both dates inclusive).

  • The upper age limit for candidates holding a valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in India is relaxable up to 26 years.

  • Ground Duty Branches: Candidates age should be between 20 years old and 26 years old as of July 1, 2025. Candidates should be born between July 2, 1999 and July 1, 2005 (both dates inclusive).

The AFCAT 2024 exam will cover general awareness, verbal ability in English, numerical ability, and reasoning and military aptitude tests. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours, carrying 100 questions, and the maximum marks allotted will be 300.

Candidates will be awarded three marks for each correct answer while one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer, and no marks will be awarded for unattempted questions.
