NEW DELHI: Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan has launched more than 1 lakh internship opportunities through the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)internship portal for enhancing the employmentary skills of students. These internship opportunities are being offered by Salesforce, CISCO, Mahatma Gandhi National Council for Rural Education (MGNCRE), and RSB Transmission India Limited, said the ministry.

The AICTE internship opportunities will be available for technical students as well as higher education students who are studying under the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The internship opportunities span the areas of cybersecurity, networking and programming, engineering, among others. Boot camps, mentoring support, rural management will be part of the internship programme for enhancing employment opportunities.

"I must take this opportunity to congratulate the companies for contributing to nation-building. It is commendable that they have taken the responsibility of training college-going engineering and humanities students. We would like to increase the Gross Enrolment Ratio from 27 percent to 65 percent. I am happy that the wheels of the chariot of the National Educational Policy 2020 have started rolling with the launch of this programme," Pradhan said.
