New Delhi : The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the national-level AILET 2020 entrance exam today between 11 am - 12.30 pm for admission to BA LLB and LLM courses offered by the institute. Some 20,000 candidates have applied for the test this year, which was conducted at more than at more than 113 test centres across 64 cities in 22 states in the country. The AILET 2020 entrance exam was originally scheduled for May 3, but had to be postponed so late in the academic year due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the country. Also, the mode of the exam had been changed to online, computer-based mode from earlier pen-and-paper mode.

The provisional answer key will be released by the exam conducting body for both the BA LLB and LLM programmes today itself. It will contain the official answers to all the questions asked in the exam. On may refer to previous years’ cutoff trends as to what is a good or safe score for admission.

What if an answer key (s) is wrong?

If the candidate feels that a certain key (s) is wrong, they can challenge the key (s) till September 27.

Note that any objection raised should be supported by supporting documents; also for each objection raised, there would be a minimum fee.

Declaration of AILET 2020 results

The NTA hasn’t yet announced a specific date for the declaration of AILET 2020 results. But given that there is already so much delay in the conduct of the exam, the result should ideally be out within the week.

It may be recalled here that NLSIU Bangalore had bolted out of CLAT 2020 and conducted its own exam, NLAT 2020, because there was a delay in the conduct of the exam (CLAT), which it said would result in a “Zero year” with no admission. It is another matter that the honourable Supreme Court intervened and quashed the NLAT and asked the institute to use CLAT scores for admission purposes.

The Supreme Court in its order also had ordered the consortium, which conducts the CLAT exam, to declare CLAT results as soon as possible so that admissions are no longer delayed.
