AILET 2024: NLU Delhi invites applications for law courses; change in exam pattern

NEW DELHI: The National Law University, Delhi has opened applications for the ALL India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2024 for admission into its BA LLB (Hons.), LLM and PhD programmes for the 2024-25 session.
According to NLU Delhi, it has made changes in the exam pattern for LLM and PhD programmes for the session 2024. The university for the first time has introduced PhD degrees in social sciences for the 2024 academic session. The exam pattern for BA LLB (Hons) remains the same according to the university.

As per the new guidelines issued by the NLU the AILET exam 2024 will now be held for two hours for BA LLB (Hons), LLM and PhD programmes.
The LLM programme exam pattern has been changed by the university. The LLM entrance test will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) only. The test paper will consist of 100 MCQs with each question carrying 1 mark and all the 100 questions will be from the different branches of Law.

According to the new guidelines for PhD programmes the entrance test will be a Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) based only. The test paper will consist of 100 MCQs, with each question carrying 1 mark. 50 MCQs will be from the subject of Research Methodology. For PhD in Law, the remaining 50 MCQs will be from different branches of Law and For PhD in social sciences, the remaining 50 MCQs will be from different branches of social sciences.
The AILET exam will be conducted on December 10, 2023 from 11 am to 1 pm. Candidates can submit their AILET 2024 applications before November 13. Candidates belonging to the general category will have to pay an application fee of Rs 3,500. Application fee for SC, ST candidates and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) is Rs 1,500. Below Poverty Line (BPL) applicants of SC, ST category are exempted from the application fee.
The university informed that the last date to submit the AILET 2024 applications for foreign nationals and candidates in the OCI or PIO category is April 30, 2024.
