AIMA opens MAT May 2026 registrations; PBT, CBT exams on May 31, June 14

The All India Management Association (AIMA) has started the registration process for the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) May 2026 session. The AIMA MAT 2026 PBT will be held on May 31, and the CBT is scheduled for June 14 across 66 cities in India.

AIMA will close MAT May 2026 registrations for PBT on May 25, while CBT registrations will remain open until June 8. The MAT 2026 admit card for PBT and CBT will be issued on May 28 and June 11, respectively.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the AIMA MAT May 2026 exam at mat.aima.in. The MAT application fee for one test mode (CBT or PBT) is Rs 2,300, whereas those choosing both modes will need to pay Rs 4,000.

MAT Registration 2026: Eligibility

Candidates who have completed a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised institute, or those appearing in the final year or awaiting their degree results, are eligible to apply for the MAT 2026 May session. There is no age limit to appear for the AIMA MAT MBA entrance exam.

Work experience is not mandatory for the MAT exam, but some MBA colleges give extra importance to it during the selection process.

MAT 2026 exam pattern

The AIMA MAT exam has five sections: Language Comprehension, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, and Economic and Business Environment. Each section has 30 questions, making a total of 150 questions. Candidates have 120 minutes to complete the exam.

As per the MAT marking scheme, candidates will get 1 mark for each correct answer, and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

As part of the MAT 2026 selection process, candidates must choose five management institutes while filling out the application form. Based on the MAT cut-off scores, shortlisted candidates will then be called for further selection rounds, such as group discussions (GD) and personal interviews (PI).
