Ambedkar University announces new MA programme, courses for 2024-25

NEW DELHI: Dr BR Ambedkar University, Delhi (AUD) has launched a new Master of Arts (MA) programme in Public Policy and Governance for the 2024-25 academic session. The announcement was made by the vice-chancellor of AUD, Anu Singh Lather during a press conference on April 30, 2024.

The university has also launched the admission brochure for undergraduate and postgraduate admissions for the academic year 2024-25. The vice-chancellor said that AUD will organise admissions on the basis of the National Testing Agency Common University Entrance Test (NTA CUET).

The vice-chancellor further shared that approximately 4,00,000 students have applied for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes at AUD through the CUET portal. Among these, 3,09,237 students have registered for UG programmes, while 89,773 have shown interest in PG programmes.

Currently, AUD offers 18 UG and 27 PG programmes for admission. For the current academic session, a total of 2,595 seats will be available across these programmes, with 1,141 seats allocated for UG and 1,454 for PG admissions. Additionally, admissions for 23 PhD programmes will commence in June, through the CUET.

Lather said AUD being a Delhi state university, 85% of the seats are reserved for students having studied in Delhi. Students from outside Delhi can take admission to the remaining 15% of the seats.

Competency enhancement courses

The VC informed that competency enhancement courses will also be offered from this session. A total of 148 subjects have been selected for this, whereas in this semester, provision for admission has been made in 78 courses. The fee for this will be Rs 8 thousand per course in every semester. There is no age limit for these courses.

AUD MRFs for PhD

The university has instituted an AUD-MRF scheme for research scholars. Under this, a provision has been made by the university to give an allowance equal to the University Grants Commission Junior Research Fellowship (UGC JRF) per month to the merit holders. Apart from JRF in AUD, researchers without NET, JRF are also given an allowance of Rs 16 thousand per month.
