Addressing the students of the university, Reddy said: "Amity University is a leading institution established under the visionary leadership of Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, who is an inspirational educationist of the country. Earlier, the number of private institutions in the country was very few, however, today, there has been a huge upsurge in the number of private institutions in the country. The country has made great strides, and the academic strengths and technological capabilities have also developed immensely in the last few years. Twenty years ago, only IITs were the front runners in technology but today the scenario has changed and many private institutions are working relentlessly in the field of science & technology. Today, 80% of students of IITs are not going abroad to work and instead, want to work in their own country, which is very encouraging and crucial for the economic development of the country. Most of the students are working in diverse areas including automobiles, manufacturing industry, information technology and other related areas.. Amity has taken a lead in introducing programmes in Defence Technology which is contributing immensely to the development of the country".

He then highlighted the role of educational institutions in the development of the country and said: "Today, there are many Indian institutions placed in global rankings and India is seen as a great destination for academic excellence. The need of the hour is to promote scientific research in the country and academic institutions such as Amity play an instrumental role in bringing new research outcomes".
