Arvind Kejriwal government launches Aam Aadmi School Clinics in Delhi schools
Aam Aadmi School Clinics to focus on issues such as anaemia, malnutrition, refractive errors, menstrual hygiene and mental health problems among students.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi government has launched Aam Aadmi School Clinics for the mental, physical and emotional well-being of school students of Delhi. Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia and health minister Satyendar Jain inaugurated 20 clinics. These clinics have been launched in collaboration with the Hans Foundation.
According to a statement from the Delhi government, these clinics will focus on the detection of issues such as anaemia, malnutrition, refractive errors, menstrual hygiene and mental health problems among students. The programme intends to address the problems of students at an earlier stage and to provide necessary treatment through the clinics. The clinics will have a trained doctor, ANM, psychologist and a multi-task worker, said the statement. Easily accessible healthcare services within school premises; free consultation, free medicines, free screening, free treatment, free first aid services, biannual follow up of every student, counselling services, are some of the important features of these clinics.

Sisodia said that the Aam Aadmi School Clinics are an extension of Mohalla Clinics. According to him, these clinics will provide health checkups to Delhi school students twice a year.
“The program is carefully crafted to cater to young students keeping in mind their physical and mental health needs. It aims to provide health care by providing regular full-body health checkups by trained professionals, guidance on health management by Doctors, group awareness sessions on issues like stress management, and individual therapy sessions by a Psychologist. It not only aims to bring about a change in the overall development but works on building a stronger future by empowering students. The initiative aims to make state of art healthcare both accessible and accountable for the students,” said Jain.
