NEW DELHI: Assam education minister Ranoj Pegu on Friday rubbished reports of a question paper leak in the ongoing Assam HSLC 2024 exams in Cachar district and said that they were fake. The education minister said that authorities are currently looking for the origins of this false news and will take legal action on the perpetrators.
The Assam High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) board exams for Class 10, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (SEBA) began today, February 16, with the English exam being conducted in the morning shift.
However, there were reports that alleged that the question papers for the English exams were leaked beforehand. Assam education minister Ranoj Pegu, through his official X (formerly Twitter) account that these claims were fake and unsubstantiated.
“The reports of HSLC examination question paper leak in Cachar District are fake. Authorities are currently probing the origins of this false news and will enforce legal measures accordingly,” the education minister said on X.
The Assam HSLC theory exams are scheduled to be held from February 16 to March 4, 2024. Assam HSLC exams for Bengali, Manipuri and Santhali are scheduled for Saturday, February 17.
