NEW DELHI, NOVEMBER 13: Azim Premji University has announced admissions to its full-time, residential Undergraduate programmes based in Bengaluru. The University also provides extensive financial assistance for deserving students through full and part scholarships covering tuition fees and accommodation and food charges.
The applications for early admission will close on December 5, 2018, and that for regular admission will close in April 2019. Along with meritorious scholarships, the university has an explicit commitment towards supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds based on parental education, income, caste, gender etc.
The Programmes offered includes:
3-year B.Sc. degree in Physics, Biology or Mathematics and B.A. degree in Economics or Humanities: Students can pursue studies in interdisciplinary areas like Sustainability, Development, Education and Media etc. They can also pursue an Honours degree by taking up additional research work and projects.
4-year Dual degree in Science and Education: Interested students can choose from Physical Sciences, Life Sciences or Mathematics. Along with deep disciplinary knowledge in Sciences and Mathematics, the dual degree professional programme would build perspectives in Education and skills to teach effectively through a strong field practice component.
Admission process and dates: Students can apply online on the University website. Applicants will be selected based on a written test and personal interview for shortlisted students. The Undergraduate programme has two Admissions windows- Applications for early admissions close on December 5, 2018, followed by an entrance test on December 16, 2018, interview and offer of admission in January 2019. Applications for regular admissions closes in April 2019 with the entrance test and interviews scheduled in May 2019. SAT scores are also considered for Admissions.
The Undergraduate Programme at Azim Premji University focuses on building critical foundational capabilities through the Common curriculum, disciplinary depth and a broader interdisciplinary engagement. The common curriculum includes critical thinking, public reasoning, academic writing and Understanding India components. Faculty members come with a mix of teaching, research and field experience and follow innovative teaching-learning methods that bring out the best in students.
