Banaras Hindu University: 20 students of Geophysics department selected in ONGC
BHU students have been selected for the profile of Geophysicist at Oil & Natural Gas corporation limited. Students belong to the MSc course.
NEW DELHI: As many as 20 students of the department of geophysics at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) have been selected in Oil and Natural Gas corporation (ONGC) limited, a statement from the university said. The official notification released by the university said that all these students have been selected for the profile of geophysicist.
All the teachers and faculty members of the department have congratulated the selected students on the accomplishment, BHU statement said.
Head of department of physics at Banaras Hindu University, Rajeev Bhatia said: "All the 20 students belong to the MSc (tech) course offered by the university and have made it through the highly competitive exam hosted by ONGC. The ONGC entrance examination witnesses participation from all over the country".
"A total of 61 candidates have been selected for the profile of geophysicist, out of which 20 are from the department of physics of Banaras Hindu University", he further added.
Recently, 22 students of the university had also seized their position in top 100 in Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) 2023 exam. Four of these had bagged a place in the top ten highest scorers, BHU added.
BHU officials said that the department of geophysics at the university is considered as one of the most reputed departments in the country, which is also well known for research studies.
