Bihar Teachers’ Competency Exam 2024: BPSC will commence the registration process from February 1.
NEW DELHI: The state president of Bihar State School Teachers Association, Amit Vikram has issued a press release demands the Bihar government and the education department to allow employed teachers to remain at their current school after passing the Bihar Teachers Competency Exam.
The official press release read, “Sudden removal of employed teachers from their current schools, would result in vacancies in those schools. There are many such schools in which only one teacher will be left and in some there might not even be a single teacher. To avoid this situation and to maintain smooth teaching and learning activities in schools, teachers who clear the competency exam should be given the option to remain in their current schools.”
Transfer facility for teachers
According to the faculty body, there should be an opportunity where teachers can voluntarily choose where they will be transferred, and they should be given three district options. "Thousands of teachers and special education instructors have been waiting for transfer for the past ten years; in such cases, the option of voluntary transfer should be provided," read the press release.
Demand for exam to be held in offline mode
According to the members of Bihar State School Teachers Association, the competency test must be held in an offline mode as the majority of employed instructors are above the age of 50 or 55 and lack knowledge of computers. In such a case, conducting the Bihar teacher's competency test is not feasible.
