Selected undergraduate students will complete two years each of BSc in Engineering at BITS Pilani and the Iowa State University.

NEW DELHI: Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS Pilani) has signed an agreement with the Iowa State University of Science and Technology to launch a two-plus-two (2+2) undergraduate degree programme and shared degree programmes at master’s and PhD level. This collaboration will be effective from January 30, the BITS Pilani said.
As per the agreement, students from BITS Pilani will be transferred to Iowa State University for a cooperative Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Engineering. The two-plus-two programme allows students to complete their initial two years at BITS Pilani and the remaining two years at Iowa State University. Likewise, it will offer pathways for graduate students to pursue research-based, collaborative degree programs at both institutions, the BITS Pilani said.
The students for these programmes will be proposed by BITS Pilani and the Iowa State University will make the final admission choices. Students who complete the requirements for their respective programmes will get degrees from both institutions.
BITS Pilani vice-chancellor Ramgopal Rao said, “This agreement not only marks a significant milestone in international academic collaboration but also emphasises the commitment of both institutions to providing students with a global perspective and a well-rounded education.”
