NEW DELHI: The Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences (BITS) Pilani has said that it is “virtually impossible” to manipulate the BITS Aptitude Test (BITSAT) as ‘agents’ promising to get students seats have claimed to do.
BITS Pilani was responding to a story published by Careers360 on June 15 which recounted promises made by three agents who claimed they could solve the BITSAT exam on behalf of the candidate and fetch them scores over 300 – enough for a BTech in computer science seat at BITS Pilani – in exchange for money.
While Careers360 followed up with these agents for several weeks, we were not able to independently verify any of the claims they made – either about being able to solve the BITSAT question paper by fixing the exam centres or about securing seats. The full text of BITS Pilani’s response is given below.
BITS Pilani response
BITS Pilani takes the claims made in the recent article seriously and strongly denies any possibility of malpractice during the BITSAT exam. The following is the response of BITS Pilani regarding admissions to the institute through BITSAT mode:
-
Calls Assuring Management Seats: BITS Pilani does not offer any management seats, as mentioned in the article. Further, this issue has already been adequately notified on the website. BITS Pilani follows the highest standards of admissions policy, and all admissions at BITS Pilani is purely on merit.
-
Conduct of BITSAT: BITSAT has been conducted for the last 18 years successfully in more than 60 cities in India and abroad. BITSAT ensures fairness, transparency, and integrity throughout the examination process. Our computer-based testing infrastructure is designed to provide a secure and controlled environment. All computer systems used for the exam are thoroughly checked for any potential vulnerabilities. Further, to ensure the identity verification of candidates, a two-factor authentication process is implemented before the exam begins. This adds an additional layer of security, minimizing the risk of impersonation or unauthorized access. Our technical team performs regular checks on the computer systems used for the exam, ensuring their integrity and functionality.
-
Center Allocation: Centre Allocation is done by a software based on preferences given by the Candidates. Our dedicated team closely monitors the center allocation of each session of the BITSAT examination and continuously analyses the test environment to detect any unusual or suspicious activities. Any attempts of manipulation during the exam are promptly identified and dealt with accordingly.
-
Bulk Cheating: It is virtually impossible to manipulate the BITSAT exam as claimed by these agents. Our robust security measures and emphasis on candidate awareness all contribute to maintaining the highest standards of conduct during the BITSAT exam. Hence bulk cheating at certain centers, as claimed by a few agents, is not possible by tampering with delivery mechanisms. Also, BITS Pilani has been deploying flying squads and sending dedicated observers and supervisors to physically monitor the conduct of BITSAT at each center for the entire duration of the exam. Hence, the claim by certain agents in the article about mass manipulations at certain centers is baseless and false.
BITS Pilani is committed to ensuring fairness, transparency, and integrity throughout the BITSAT examination process. Our robust security measures and emphasis on candidate awareness all contribute to maintaining the highest standards of conduct during the BITSAT exam. We encourage all stakeholders to have confidence in our commitment in providing a fair platform for all aspiring students. It is therefore advised that no parent should compromise with the future of their wards under any circumstances.
Thus all concerned are hereby advised not to believe in fake calls, emails, and SMS regarding admissions at BITS Pilani as highlighted on our website https://www.bitsadmission.com .
