New Delhi July, 30-Students who will be appearing for UP Board class 10th and 12th exams in 2019 will have to take a single examination instead of two exams for the same subject. This rule will be enforced for atleast 40 subjects, This step has been taken with an aim to establish uniformity with CBSE and other educational boards. The other reason to do away with the norm of conducting two exams for the same subject has been the adoption of the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) methodology and pattern under which one exam is conducted per subject.

UP Board conducts exams in 105 subjects for class 10th and 12th in two papers inclusive of subjects like English, Hindi, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology as well as Agriculture and subjects of vocational trades.

The UP Board has also uploaded model question papers for students’ convenience on its website. These model papers are in accordance with the revised format. So far test papers of 24 subjects have been uploaded including Hindi, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Geography.

To be in line with the education pattern of the other boards in the country especially CBSE, UP Board has decided to merge two separate parts of the same subjects into one. This merging of the papers will not only save time but resources as well while bringing uniformity across the country with boards being modelled on a common format.
