NEW DELHI: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced its decision to hold the BPSC 70th CCE re-exam for candidates who appeared at the Patna exam centre. The BPSC Combined Competitive Examination (BPSC 70th CCE) for the cancelled exam will now be conducted on January 4.
A full-bench meeting of the commission was held on Thursday in connection with the cancellation of the exam conducted on December 13 at Bapu Examination Complex, Patna. It further informed candidates that a detailed notification regarding the BPSC 70th CCE re-exam will be notified on the official website, bpsc.bih.bic.in.
Around 4.80 lakh candidates registered for the BPSC 70th CCE exam sat for the recruitment test last Friday at 945 centres. Candidates who appeared at the Bapu exam centre had alleged that the BPSC 70th CCE paper was leaked . They claimed that the seal of the question paper was broken.
The commission earlier rejected the complaints regarding technical glitches in the portal and called it ‘baseless’ allegations. Keeping in mind the larger interest of students, the BPSC decided not to postpone the exam . This comes after a large section of students protested to extend the exam date as they could not complete the application process, thereby missing their opportunity to appear for the recruitment exam.
Aspirants also opposed the new exam pattern and multiple shifts introduced by the commission. Later, the BPSC said that it will conduct the BPSC 70th exam as per the old pattern on a single day. Refusing to postpone the exam earlier, the BPSC said that if deferred, the recruitment process will be delayed by 5-6 months.
Candidates who appeared in the Patna exam centre can expect the details on admit card and exam timings soon on the official portal. The recruitment exam was held between 12 noon to 2 pm.
