NEW DELHI: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has extended the exam dates for the Assistant Engineer (AE) positions in civil and mechanical disciplines. As per the official notice, the commission will now conduct the BPSC AE 2024 exam in the last week of November.
Candidates who applied for the BPSC AE 2024 exam can check the official notice available on the official website at bpsc.bih.nic.in. Earlier the BPSC AE 2024 exam was tentatively scheduled to be held from September 20, 2024, to September 22. The commission will announce the new exam dates on the official website.
“The tentative dates for the competitive examination for Assistant Engineer (Civil) and Assistant Engineer (Mechanical) were scheduled from September 20, 2024, to September 22, 2024. However, due to unavoidable circumstances, the examination is now expected to be held in the last week of November,” the English translation of the official notice read.

The BPSC AE selection process includes two stages. The first stage is a written exam, which is an objective-type test designed to evaluate both general and technical aptitude. This exam carries a weightage of 75% in the overall merit list.
The second stage includes the evaluation of prior experience, contributing 25% to the final selection. Experience is assessed based on contract-based work, with a maximum of 5 marks awarded for each year of service, up to a total of 25 marks.
