BSEB Class 10 exam 2026 starts for 15.12 lakh students; chairman inspects centres

Download EBookBSEB Class 10 Board Exam 2026: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) conducted the first Matric Annual Examination 2026 across the state today, February 17, with over 15 lakh students appearing in the first phase of the examination. As per the datesheet, the Bihar class 10 board exam will end on February 25, 2026. The board has provided an additional 15 minutes at the start of each shift for students to read the question paper.
On the second day of the Matric Annual Examination 2026, February 18, the BSEB will conduct the mathematics examination in both shifts. For visually-impaired candidates, Home Science (Paper Code 126) will be conducted in place of Mathematics during the first shift, from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm. As per examination norms, visually impaired students will also be granted an additional 20 minutes per hour to complete their paper.

BSEB Class 10 Board Examination 2026: Number of students to appear
According to the board, a total of 15,12,687 candidates, including 7,85,726 girls and 7,26,961 boys, are appearing for the examination at 1,699 centres set up across Bihar.
On the first day, examinations in mother tongue-subjects – Hindi, Bangla, Urdu and Maithili – were conducted smoothly in two shifts. The first shift was held from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm, while the second shift took place from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm.
In Patna district alone, 71,022 candidates are appearing across 70 examination centres.

BSEB Class 10 Board Exam 2026: Chairman’s visit at centres
The BSEB chairman, Anand Kishor, conducted inspections at several centres in Patna, including Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav High School, Government Girls’ (+2) School, Bankipur, and Devipad Chaudhary (Miller) Inter School. During the visits, he reviewed arrangements with centre superintendents and magistrates and emphasized strict adherence to Board guidelines. He also checked frisking procedures at select centres.
