Calcutta University adjourns UG exams for coinciding with TMC Chatra Parishad 'foundation day'

NEW DELHI, AUGUST 28: The Calcutta University has postponed the internal examinations for all the undergraduate programmes which were scheduled to be held on August 28. The examination date clashes with the foundation day of Trinamool Congress Chatra Parishad (TMCP), prompting them to adjourn till further notice.

In an official notice released by the Calcutta University, Controller of Examinations, Jayanta Sinha informed, “All the Undergraduate programmes that were to be held on August 24 deems cancelled and the revised date for the examinations will be announced shortly.”

In the light of the annual day celebration of TMCP, no examination will be held as several thousand students from various colleges of the University is expected to actively participate in the celebration.

One of the Calcutta University College Principal was quoted saying, “This postponement of examination date is going to impact several of the thousands of the students enrolled in the undergraduate programmes of the University colleges. In many of the colleges, the date was fixed for conducting practical examinations too.”

The Calcutta University Vice Chancellor, Sonali Chakraborty Banerjee was unavailable to share her inputs on this.
