Careers360 Architecture Ranking 2021: IIT Kharagpur grabs No.1 spot followed by IIT Roorkee. Nirma University and SRM Institute of Science and Technology in top 10

Public institutions dominate the Top 10 in
Careers360’s
maiden ranking of architecture colleges - - The Best in Architecture. Nirma University, Ahmedabad and SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai are the exceptions.

IIT Kharagpur is the No.1 ranked institute among architecture colleges with a score of 405.77 out of a possible 500. IIT Roorkee comes next, followed by SPA Delhi, NIT Calicut and NIT Tiruchirappalli. Nirma University, SPA Bhopal, SPA Vijayawada, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, IIEST Shibpur complete the list of top 10.
In placements, the score for the top 10 colleges ranges from 45.09 to 91.80 with SRM Institute of Science and Technology emerging the leader in this segment with the maximum score.
The top 5 did well in learning and accreditation with IIT Kharagpur garnering 194.66 out of 225. But when it comes to student quality, Nirma University which is ranked 6 is the best one with a score of 171.79, far ahead of the No.1 ranked IIT Kharagpur which has a score of 140.
Top states
Tamil Nadu appears to be a major hub for architecture colleges with the state accounting for 10 out of the 50 colleges ranked. Maharashtra comes next with five institutions. There are only two institutions in the list from Uttar Pradesh; Aligarh Muslim University and Amity University, Noida.
There is a good geographical spread of architecture colleges with the top 10 located across West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.
Ranking parameters
The institutions have been ranked on three broad parameters. They are: Student quality and diversity (175 marks); learning and accreditation (225); placements and project research (100) which add up to 500.
