NEW DELHI: IIM Ahmedabad will close the window to fill CAT 2021 application form tomorrow, September 22, at 5:00 pm. This is the last chance for the management aspirants to apply for CAT, one of the most popular MBA entrance exams whose score is accepted by over 100 top colleges in India such as IIMs, IITs, MDI Gurgaon, FMS Delhi, SPJIMR Mumbai, XIMB, BITSoM, IMI, TAPMI, MICA, etc. Candidates who have not yet applied for CAT 2021 can apply online at the earliest on the official CAT website, iimcat.ac.in. The official CAT notice released earlier, clearly states that the CAT registration date will not be extended further. Hence, this is the last opportunity for the interested candidates to process CAT registration 2021 .

Common Admission Test (CAT) is scheduled for November 28, 2021, in online mode. There are 400+ CAT exam centres, this year, across 159 cities in India. Candidates can select six test cities while filling the CAT registration form. The CAT registration fee for General/ OBC candidates is Rs 2200 and SC/ ST/ PwD candidates is Rs 1100.
CAT Eligibility 2021
This year due to the covid-19 pandemic, after a long period of time, few changes have been made to the CAT eligibility criteria .

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50 percent aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA (45 percent aggregate for SC, ST, and PWD/DA category) from a recognised board or university.

Candidates who have completed their graduation in pandemic times of 2020 and 2021 or are in the final year of graduation (2022 batch) can mention “promotion/pass” in their CAT 2021 application form.
How to apply for IIM CAT 2021
Candidates can follow the steps given below to apply for the CAT exam:
Step 1: Visit the official website- iimcat.ac.in for filling the CAT application form 2021
Step 2: On the homepage, click on CAT 2021 registration link
Step 3: Register and create your CAT Id and password
Step 4: Log in using your login ID and password
Step 5: Fill in the CAT 2021 registration form carefully
Step 6: Pay the CAT application fee and submit your CAT exam form
CAT 2021: Major changes this year

As per the latest media reports, CAT 2021 exam pattern is likely to change. The number of questions asked in the CAT exam will be reduced from 76 to likely 66 or 68 (as per experts). However, the exam duration will be two hours only.

This year, Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir has been added as a CAT exam centre making the count of CAT test cities to 159. Candidates residing in Jammu and Kashmir can opt for either Jammu or Srinagar as their preferred exam city.

About CAT 2021
CAT is conducted for MBA/ PGDM admission to various IIMs and other top B-schools in the country. The exam is considered difficult as compared to other management entrances in India. The total duration of the exam will be 120 minutes with 40 minutes sectional limit. The three sections in the CAT question paper are- verbal ability and reading comprehension (VARC), data interpretation and logical reasoning (DILR), and quantitative ability (QA).
