NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai has announced its admission policy for MBA programmes for the academic year 2024-26. The institute will offer MBA admissions through Common Admission Test (CAT) 2023 scores.

Recently, the National Institute of Industrial Engineering, NITIE was renamed as IIM Mumbai making it the 21st IIM in the country. On August 8, both houses of the Parliament, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, passed the Indian Institute of Management (Amendment) Bill 2023.
IIM Mumbai will be offering three MBA programmes through CAT 2023 including Master of Business Administration (MBA), MBA in Operations and Supply Chain Management, and MBA in Sustainability Management.
The institute has given 55 percent weightage to CAT 2023 score in its MBA admission policy. As per the eligibility criteria for MBA programmes, a candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree, with at least 50 percent marks or equivalent CGPA , 45% for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories, from a recognized university.

Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification exam and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. Such candidates will have to bring a certificate from the head of the institution certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year or is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% for other categories).
Selected students will be required to submit a certificate stating that they have completed the requirements by June 30, 2024 and will have to submit pass certificates and marksheets by December 31, 2024.
IIM Mumbai will conduct three stages for shortlisting and selecting students for MBA admissions 2024. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their CAT 2023 scores, reservation, gender diversity, and more.
Stage 1: Minimum CAT 2023 percentile cut-offs to be considered for Personal Interview (PI).

Stage 2: Based on the above criteria, students will be called for PI based on their CAT 2023 scores considering their reservation category and gender diversity.
Stage 3: Final selection of candidates
For final selection, the institute will derive a composite score using the parameters including Class 10 marks, Class 12 marks, bachelor’s degree marks, work experience, and gender diversity. The composite score will be used for the category-wise merit list.
