NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) administered the Common Admission Test (CAT 2024) slot 2 exam from 12.30 pm to 2.30 pm at 170 exam cities across the country. Candidates with a valid CAT admit card 2024 were allowed to sit for the exam. Around 3.29 lakh candidates are expected to appear in the CAT exam 2024 today in three shifts. The CAT slot 1 exam was held between 8.30 am to 10.30 am. Students found the slot 1 questions to be moderately difficult.
Rhiju from Delhi told Careers360: "This year, the CAT Exam was lengthy in general. Logical reasoning, Quant and DILR were all lengthy but English was easy. My strategy was to stick to the basics. Overall, it was a good paper." He said he is aiming for a 80-85 percentile.
Apurva said: "It was an easy to moderate exam. I had expected tougher DILR questions, but they were comparatively easy. English being my strength was also pretty easy." She is aiming for a percentile around 90 and wants to take up specialisation in finance.
According to the CAT marking scheme 2024, 3 marks will be awarded for every right answer and one mark will be deducted for every wrong response. No negative marks for the non-multiple-choice questions (non-MCQs).
As per the CAT slot 2 exam analysis, verbal ability and reading comprehension (VARC) and Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) was moderate in difficulty-level and quantitative aptitude (QA) was comparatively difficult. Overall, students found the VARC section lengthier.

DILR - 4 sets. Four questions in each set.
QA -Number system, profit loss, ratio, mix and all, time and work, speed distance and time, logarithm, geometric question.
