NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 students appeared for the social science exam today, March 15. Students taking the CBSE board exams 2023 today found the paper "easy to moderate" and at par with the CBSE 2023 12th sample papers.

The social science paper Class 10 CBSE exam timing was 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. Students were provided an additional 15 minutes question paper reading time. Students had to report at the exam centre at 10 am.
The CBSE social science exam was held for 80 marks. As per the social science sample paper pattern, the question paper will comprise six sections – A, B, C, D, E and F. As many as 37 questions was there in the CBSE social science question paper.
The CBSE social science Class 10 question paper had 20 one-mark questions, four two-marks questions, five each three-marks and five-marks questions and three four-marks questions and was framed according to the CBSE social science sample paper.

CBSE Class 10, 12 sample papers for all subjects are available on the CBSE academic portal -- cbseacademic.nic.in.
The class 10 board examination social science question paper was easy to moderate. Most of the questions were direct and same in all the sets. One long answer type question in political science was a bit critical. Competency based questions were equally divided in all the sections of the paper. Students were very happy after the exam. They were able to finish the paper on time.

The CBSE Social Science paper was blended with moderately easy and average questions. No question was outside of the syllabus. About 70-80 percent of the questions were straight from the textbook. It was delightful to see the students come out happy after writing their Social Science exam.
Overall, it was an easy paper with more competency based questions.

Himakhi Gohain, PGT Political Science, Modern English School, Kahilipara, Guwahati said: "The nature of the question paper is quite moderate and the exam’s pattern and difficulty level were matching with the sample paper provided by CBSE. It consists questions ranging from easy to critical. language is a bit tricky but proper reading of the question will make it assessable for the students. Case based questions were easy and in comfort zone for the students. Map-based questions are very common and could be answered by the students."
"It was more of analytical and application based as per the norms of CBSE sample paper. On an average question paper can be termed as a student’s friendly paper. They were satisfied after appearing the exam," she added.
Analysing the social studies paper for class 10 as moderately difficult and balanced, Gayatri Sharma, TGT History, DPS Indirapuram, said: "Most of the questions were direct, but some one markers were a little challenging. In set 3, the political science section was given more weightage in terms of marks than the history section."
The Class 10 social science paper was a balanced one. The set 1 and 2 were according to the sample paper but in set 3, history was of 15 marks instead of 20. According to the students, they were able to complete paper well in time. The thorough knowledge of NCERT was sufficient to solve all the questions. The source based questions were uniformly distributed from easy to moderate and could be answered easily. MCQs were straight forward and could be answered easily.
