Apply NowNEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the practical exams 2025 for private students from February 15, 2025 to March 15, 2025. The board has issued guidelines for conduct of CBSE practical exams 2025.
According to the central board, the practical exams will be conducted for students of the last two years whose practical marks are not available due to repeat in practical (RP) or repeat in practical and theory (RB) or for being absent in exams. The exams will also be held for students of 2022 who applied for practicals.
For subjects not having a practical component, the board will not conduct the internal assessment and compute the marks on the basis of student’s performance in theory exams.
The practical exams of CBSE private candidates will be conducted at the exam centres fixed for theory exams. While the external examiners will be appointed by the CBSE regional offices, the internal examiners will be appointed by the centre superintendent from their schools themselves.
Guiding the exam centres on uploading of marks , the board said, “after the conduct of practical examinations, the centres will upload the marks in respect of private students whose practicals have been conducted at the centre. The award lists will also be uploaded on the day of practical examination itself, after signatures of internal and external examinations.”
The private students have been instructed to contact their exam centres with a copy of their previous result or marksheet and CBSE admit card 2025 . The board asked students to note down the date and time of practical exams given by the centre and report to the exam centre on time.
CBSE practical exams 2025: Guidelines for centres
The board has asked the examination centres to take the following actions:
- The centre superintendent of the exam centre shall prepare a class-wise and subject-wise list of all students whose practical exams are to be conducted.
- The centre superintendent of the exam centre shall contact the regional office in advance for appointment of the external examiner.
- The centre superintendent shall not appoint external examiners on their own under any circumstances.
- The date and time of the practical exams shall be fixed in accordance with the availability of the examiner, convenience of examinees, and the datesheet.
- The students shall be informed in advance about the date and time of the practical exams.
- The regional offices shall be informed about the plan of conduct of practical exams.
Similarly, the CBSE regional offices have been asked to prepare the list of students, inform examinees about their pending exams, appoint external examiners in advance, and ensure timely completion of practical exams along with the uploading of marks. They will ensure that marks of students have been uploaded on the portal before the last date.
