NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notice regarding the CBSE 2025 board exam ethics for Class 10th and 12th students. Over 44 lakh students will appear for the CBSE 2025 board exam starting on February 15, 2025.

Students appearing for the exams must know about the exam ethics and other rules and regulations. The latest CBSE notice also addressed school principals and heads to make sure that the students are aware of the general guidelines for the exams.

CBSE has also listed the permitted and barred items for the CBSE board exam 2025 centre. According to the notice, students must appear for the board exam in school uniform.

The CBSE ethics notice circular can be downloaded for reference from CBSE’s official website. Previously, CBSE introduced a CCTV policy for board exams in 2025. All schools conducting board exams must have CCTV facilities and those schools that wish to become exam centre will have to install cameras at their own cost.

According to the official notice, candidates must not keep any electronic devices after entering the exam hall or else their current exam and next year's exam will be cancelled. Candidates will have to re-attempt exams for all subjects thereafter.

“Cancellation of current as well as next year’s examination in all subjects. Shall have to take the examination in all subjects thereafter.” the official notice read.

CBSE Board Exam 2025: List of permitted items

Candidates must carry their admit card to the exam centre mandatorily. Other lists of permitted items for the CBSE board exam 2025 are as follows.

  • Admit Card and school ID card for regular students

  • Admit Card and ID proof for private students

  • Stationery items such as transparent pouch, geometry, pencil Box, blue or royal

  • blue ink, ball point or gel pen, scale, writing pad, eraser

  • Analogue watch, transparent water bottle

  • Metro card, bus pass, money

CBSE Board Exam 2025: List of barred items

The permitted items for the CBSE board exam 2025 are listed below for reference.

  • Any stationery item - such as textual material (printed or written), bits of paper, Calculator. Students with learning disability, that is, Dyscalculia are permitted to use Calculator as per Circular No. CBSE/COORD/2020 dated 20.01.2020 and are provided with the same by exam centre, pen drives, calculator, log table shall be provided by the centres, including electronic pen, scanner, etc.

  • Any communication device such as mobile phone, bluetooth, earphones, microphone, pager, health band, smart watch, camera, etc.

  • Other items like wallets, goggles, handbags, pouches, etc.

  • Any eatable item opened or packed, except for diabetic students

  • Any other item which could be used for unfair means

  • Use of the above or similar items will be treated under the “Unfair Means” category and will attract punishment as per the rules.
