CBSE opens post-result facilities for Class 10 main, 2nd exams 2026; apply for scanned copies by August 9

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the post-result facilities for Class 10 students who appeared for main and second board examination 2026. Students can apply for scanned copies of their evaluation answer books, verification of marks, and request for re-evaluation of one or more answers.

CBSE Class 10 students can raise a request for a scanned copy of their board exams from August 5 to 9. They also have to pay a requisite fee of Rs 300 per subject.

Notably, the CBSE will open the window for Class 10 students to submit their request for verification of marks and re-evaluation from August 16 to 19.

The fee to submit the verification of marks request is Rs 300 per answer book, while the charges for re-evaluation is Rs 100 per question, including all sub-parts, CBSE said in an official notification.

Students who appeared only in the CBSE Class 10 main board examination 2026 are eligible to apply for scanned copies in the answer books for any subject taken in the main board exam.

Guidelines to apply for CBSE Class 10 re-evaluation

After obtaining the scanned copy, they can also apply for verification of marks in the concerned answer book or apply for re-evaluation of one or more full questions in the concerned answer book, the notice read.

Those who appeared in both the CBSE Class 10 main exam and second board exams 2026 can apply for the scanned copy of the answer book of the main examination, the second exam, or both.

They can also choose only one answer book for a subject-either main or second examination and apply for verification of marks in that answer book and apply for re-evaluation of one or more full questions in that answer book.

“For a subject taken in both examinations, a student may obtain both answer books, but verification and/or re-evaluation can be requested for only one answer book either the main examination answer book or the second examination answer book. Once selected, the other answer book cannot be considered for these facilities,” the official notice read.

The central board said that the entire process for making a request and payment of the fee is "Online" and no application after the scheduled date and time and in offline mode will be accepted.

CBSE 10th verification, re-evaluation procedure

Candidates can only be paid online through UPI, credit, debit card, or net banking. Fee shall not be accepted through postal order, DD, money order, cheque or cash.

“Only a single application for each step per candidate will be accepted in the online process. The candidate must decide in advance whether he/she has to apply for one subject or multiple subjects. Once applied, no second opportunity will be accorded,” it added.

In cases where there is a change in marks (both increase and decrease), such candidates shall have to surrender the mark statement cum certificate which is in their possession. Thereafter, they shall be issued a new mark statement cum certificate.

Fee will be refunded in case of increase in marks after verification or, and re-evaluation in the same account from which it has been paid to the CBSE.

Candidates must note that “only candidates who have obtained the scanned copy of the evaluated answer book shall be eligible to apply for verification of marks and/or re-evaluation.”

As per the procedure to apply for the re-evaluation, candidates must first apply for the scanned copy of the evaluated answer book. The scanned answer book will be made available in the candidate's login account. After examining the scanned answer book, the candidate may apply for verification of marks or re-evaluation.

A change of even one mark will be implemented: CBSE

After receiving the scanned answer book, candidates should examine them and decide whether to apply for verification of marks, re-evaluation, or both.

“A candidate may obtain the scanned answer book(s) of the Main Examination, the Second Examination, or both, as applicable,” CBSE said. Candidate should compare the answers with the question paper and the marking scheme available on the CBSE website.

For a subject taken in both examinations, verification and re-evaluation can be requested for only one answer book -either main or second exam. For re-evaluation, candidates must select the full question and provide reasons for the request.

Once the answer book of one examination is selected for verification and/ or reevaluation in a subject, no request for the answer book of the other examination in the same subject will be accepted.

Candidates who will apply for the re-evaluation process will be able to check the status and outcome in the candidate’s login account.

The revised marks may increase, decrease or remain unchanged. A decrease of even one mark will be implemented. The result of verification and/or re-evaluation will be final. No appeal or further review will be accepted.
