NEW DELHI: The Class 10 mathematics term 2 exam was concluded by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today at 12:30 pm. Students who attended the CBSE term 2 maths paper said that the paper was easy, but a bit lengthy.

"Today’s Mathematics paper was quite easy, but a little lengthy though. Students with a great knowledge of the syllabus must have completed the paper in the given time. A few questions were easy but were really time-consuming to write step-by-step answers. All the questions were as per the syllabus only and were on the expected lines," said Aashika Thakur, a Class 10 student from Delhi.

According to Awadhesh Kumar Jha, principal of Sarvodaya Co-ed Vidyalaya in Rohini Sector 8, the CBSE maths paper is an above-average paper with new questions, but a bit lengthy. "Most of the questions are with figures which make the question better and easy to understand and attempt," he said. He further said that the maths basic is from the NCERT book and important questions have been included in the CBSE maths class 10 question paper.

Ankita Ahuja Sharma, who is a mathematics teacher at Shiv Nadar School, Gurugram, said that the students of her school had not faced any issues related to time management while attending the CBSE maths Class 10 exam. She said that the students were able to finish the CBSE maths paper within the given time. "All questions were doable and similar to the sample papers practised in class. Overall, all students were happy and satisfied with the paper," she said.

Anjani Kumar Rai of VidyaGyan School, Bulandshahr said that the "Basic Mathematics” section of the CBSE term 2 maths paper followed the NCERT pattern and students found it easy. According to her, the difficulty level of the three sections of the paper was at an easy-to-moderate level. She said that the questions can be attended by the students if they understood the concept and the students can expect good marks in the CBSE Class 10 maths paper. "For Standard Mathematics, the question paper was designed on a scale of moderate to difficult. Case study based questions were slightly tricky to answer but students with conceptual understanding would have answered them easily," she said.

Mala Kapoor, principal of Silverline Prestige School, Ghaziabad said that those students who attended the Basic Math found the paper easy and similar to the CBSE sample paper. According to him, students who attended the CBSE maths paper found questions from topics such as mean, median and surface area a bit tricky. "Overall the paper was easy and students will be able to attempt it in time. According to students, basic paper was easy and they will be able to solve it in time," he said.

Students got 2 hours to attend the CBSE term 2 maths Class 10 exam. The exam began at 10:30 am. Students were mandated to follow COVID-19 protocols such as wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing during the exam.
