CBSE Class 12 Biology Paper 2026 Analysis: Students find exam moderate in difficulty; questions well-balanced

CBSE Class 12 Biology paper covered the majority of the syllabus with questions on topics such as reproduction, genetics, biotechnology, and ecology, as per the analysis report.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Class 12 board exams 2026 for Biology subject today from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. Students find the Biology paper moderate in difficulty with direct and application-based questions. The questions in the Biology paper were also well-distributed, as per subject experts.

Class 12 Biology paper covered the majority of the syllabus with questions on topics such as reproduction, genetics, biotechnology, and ecology.
“Many of them were based on basic concepts, definitions, and standard processes that we usually study from the textbook. Students who had revised NCERT properly would have found it easier to attempt these questions without much confusion. Even the diagram-based questions were familiar and not very complicated,” Malini said.
CBSE 12th Biology Analysis: Good mix of MCQs
“They didn’t require too much deep thinking or analysis, but rather a clear understanding of concepts. This helped in saving time and allowed students to write answers more confidently. It felt like the paper was designed more to check understanding rather than to confuse students,” the subject expert added.
Another subject expert Shaifali Singh, PGT - Biology, Global Indian International School, Noida, said that CBSE Class 12 Biology exam paper was designed to test the analytical and problem-solving skills for the students.
“The Class 12 Biology examination Level was average. It consisted of a few tricky questions which always as usual involved multiple concepts.The paper had a good mix of MCQs, short answer questions, and long answer questions, which allowed the students to demonstrate their knowledge and problem-solving,” she said.
Overall, the 12th Biology paper was balanced with case-based study questions on practical life application based, as per subject experts.
