NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education will declare the CBSE Class 12 results 2021 today but several states and universities, including major central universities such as Delhi University, have already framed their admission policies. The process for DU Admission 2021, for example, begins on August 2 and DU will admit on the basis of CBSE Class 12 result and the results of other boards, including ISC result 2021 and state boards.
Earlier this month, the University Grants Commission (UGC) had told universities to start the admission process for undergraduate (UG) programmes only after the CBSE Class 12 results are declared.
This is how various states and universities will admit students this year:
DU Admission 2021
The admission process at Delhi University begins on August 2, 2021. Despite the fact that the CBSE 12 board exam 2021 was cancelled and the CBSE Class 12 results are being declared on the basis of students’ performance in Class 10 and internal assessment.
For DU admission, the student’s best four scores in the five subjects will be considered. The best four subjects must include a language. Once students submit their marks, DU colleges will draw up “cut-off lists” -- the minimum marks at which students are granted admission -- for each subject and category of students. Applicants have to check where they will be eligible and gain admission there.
West Bengal college admissions
Autonomous colleges and West Bengal state universities like Jadavpur University have framed different policies for admission to undergraduate programmes in 2021. The West Bengal HS Result 2021 was announced on July 22 and colleges will grant admission on the basis of that, ISC Result 2021 and CBSE results Class 12 2021 -- the three boards with significant presence in the state.
Several colleges and universities in West Bengal will consider the Class 10 results as well while deciding admission criteria this year.
Gujarat University Admission 2021
Gujarat University has opened admission to undergraduate, postgraduate and integrated courses for 2021. The online admission process begins with the submission of an enquiry form.
Bihar: Patna University Admission 2021
Patna University admission will begin from August 1 for undergraduate programmes. Bihar was the first state board to declare the Class 12 results this year. The BSEB Class 12 result was declared in March 2021.
JEE Main 2021, NEET 2021
Major entrance exams for admission to BTech, and MBBS and allied programmes are yet to take place. The application process for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Undergraduate ( NEET UG 2021 ) for admission to medicine is open and will remain so till August 6, 2021. The fourth session of the engineering entrance examination JEE Main 2021 has been postponed to August but the application for that is closed. The JEE Mains’ last session was initially clashing with the CBSE Class 12 exam but the exams were cancelled. According to a CBSE HQ tweet, the results will be announced at 2 pm today.
