Since the CTET exam is of 150 marks, the general category candidates need 90 marks to pass, whereas the reserved category candidates must secure 82.5 marks to qualify.

CTET may soon include the Maithili language as an option in the exam. The development came after a proposal related to Maithili was passed during a meeting of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
