CBSE opens new regional office, Centre of Excellence in Vijayawada

The CBSE Board now had 17 regional offices and COEs in the country which will cater to affiliated schools.
NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened a new CBSE regional office and Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. With this, the board now has a total of 17 CBSE regional offices.
The new office in Vijayawada will be conducting the CBSE Board examination starting from the academic session 2023-23.
“The address of RO Vijayawada is: 7-104, B-Block, Sri Anjaneya Towers NTTPS Road, Ibrahimpatnam, (Premises of the O/o Commissioner of School Education, Andhra Pradesh) Krishna District-521456, Andhra Pradesh,” the CBSE Board said.
“The jurisdiction of Regional Office, Chennai will now be Tamil Nadu, Pundcherry and Andaman & Nicobar Islands from the academic session 2023-24 onwards,” it added.
Announcing the new regional office, the CBSE said, “The Board has added the 17th Regional Office and COE in the country which will cater to affiliated schools in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.”

In 2019, the board established 6 regional offices in Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Delhi West, Noida, and Pune.
The board set up Centres of Excellence to equip in-service teachers of the affiliated schools, with the latest updates and strategies through various capacity building programmes, the CBSE official website read.
From the academic session 2019-2020, four more COEs in Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Delhi West, and Noida were added. Furthermore, it informed that the schools located outside India will be looked after by Delhi East Regional Office.
