CBSE reopens CTET 2026 applications at ctet.nic.in; exam date postponed

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reopened the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2026 application window for eligible candidates. The CTET application facility can be accessed through the official website at ctet.nic.in by September 1. CTET City Intimation Slip 2026 LIVE.

The decision to reopen the 21st CTET 2026 application window was made after the board received requests from a large number of eligible candidates who could not apply for the teacher eligibility test earlier.

“The Hon’ble Supreme Court has emphasized the need to afford eligible teachers a reasonable opportunity to comply with the statutory requirement of acquiring the prescribed TET qualification,” according to the official notice.

“In view of the aforesaid and in the larger interest of candidates, it has been decided to provide an opportunity to all eligible candidates who could not avail themselves of the earlier application window by opening the online application portal from 25.08.2026 to 01.09.2026. Candidates who have already successfully completed and submitted their applications need not apply again,” it added.

Earlier, the CBSE CTET applications were opened from May 11 to June 6, 2026. The board also announced that the revised date for the 22nd edition of the CTET exam will be announced after September 1.

The CBSE CTET September 2026 examination was scheduled on September 6 in dual shifts.

CBSE CTET 2026: Steps to apply

Candidates can check the steps given below to register for the CBSE CTET 2026 application process.

• Go to the official website at ctet.nic.in.
• Complete the CTET registration process.
• Fill out the application form by entering your education details and personal details.
• Upload scanned documents such as photo and signature.
• Pay CTET application fee and finally click on the submit button.
• Download and take two or three prints for future reference.

General and Other Backward - Non Creamy Layer (OBC NCL) candidates can register for CTET 2026 september exam by paying a requisite fee of Rs 1,000 for one paper and Rs 1,200 for two papers.

Scheduled Caste (SC), and Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates will have to pay Rs 500 for one paper and Rs 600 for two subjects.
