NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday held a webinar to explain about the modalities for the conduct of CBSE term 2 exams 2022. The CBSE joint secretary Sanyam Bhardwaj said that the board will declare the results even for students absent in CBSE term 1 or term 2 board exam 2022.

Over 35 lakh students will be appearing for the CBSE term 2 board exams 2022, which is scheduled to begin tomorrow, April 26, 2022.
The CBSE joint secretary, addressing all principals and CBSE board members, said, “If a student could not appear in CBSE term 1 or CBSE term 2 exams, the final result will be prepared based on the student's performance in the term they appeared.” However, the marking scheme was not announced by the board in the webinar.
Saying that the board exams are being conducted after two years due to Covid-19 pandemic, Sanyam Bhardwaj instructed schools that “There should be no relaxation in Covid-19 preparation.”

He instructed all CBSE schools to provide a separate room for students who test positive for Covid-19 to appear for the CBSE Class 10, 12 term 2 board exam 2022.
In case a student could not appear for the CBSE Class 10, 12 practical exams, the schools will have to conduct and inform the CBSE regional office regarding their marks, he said.
Students who could not appear in both CBSE term 1 and term 2 will be allowed to appear for the CBSE board exams next year as regular or private students. He further said that the CBSE Class 12 students who could not appear in both the terms will not be allowed to appear in the compartment exams, as the exams are conducted for all papers on the same day.

Briefing about the seating arrangements, Bhardwaj said that 18 students will only be allowed to sit in a room and each exam hall will have two invigilators.
The webinar further explained the roles and responsibilities of principals, centre superintendent and assistant superintendent
Addressing the webinar, CBSE Chairman Vineet Joshi said, “Plan for the emergencies. If you have thought about it, there is not going to be any panic in the system and we’ll be able to conduct in a smooth and fair manner. We are here to support and it is a beautiful system which is not found anywhere else in the world, in which schools in close coordination with the board conduct the exams.” He also warned students, parents and teachers to be aware of fake news.
