The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will host the National Teachers’ Conference (NTC) 2026, with a focus on “computational thinking and understanding AI.” The event is part of the board’s larger plan to strengthen teacher training for the 2026–27 academic session.

In its latest circular, CBSE said the conference is designed to bring educators, school leaders, and experts onto one platform to share ideas and practical approaches to teaching AI and computational thinking in classrooms.

The two-day conference will be held on November 20 and 21 in Pune. It will include expert sessions, discussions, and presentations aimed at helping teachers better understand how to integrate emerging technologies into everyday learning.

The conference will cover a wide range of topics: from the basics of computational thinking to how AI can be applied in real-life situations. It will also look at how subjects like mathematics support these concepts and how they can be taught across different disciplines.

Another important aspect is ethics. With AI becoming more common in education, the discussions will also touch on responsible and thoughtful use of technology in classrooms.

CBSE NTC 2026: Who can apply and how to register

The conference is open to principals, teachers, counsellors, and special educators from CBSE-affiliated schools. Those interested can register online, with the last date set as August 31, 2026. However, since seats are limited, registrations may close earlier once the capacity is filled.

The participation fee has been set at Rs 5,000 for principals and Rs 2,000 for teachers from schools in India, while participants from CBSE-affiliated foreign schools will need to pay Rs 10,000.

CBSE has clarified that the fee is non-refundable. While meals will be provided during the event, participants will need to arrange their own travel and accommodation.

How papers will be selected and certificates awarded

Teachers who wish to present their work at the conference will need to go through a selection process that begins at the district level. CBSE has already asked schools to organise district level deliberations (DLDs), where educators can present their ideas and case studies.

The best entries from these workshops will be reviewed further, and shortlisted papers will be evaluated by a national-level expert panel. Final selections are expected to be announced shortly before the conference.

Those whose papers are chosen will get an opportunity to present at the conference, while others may be invited for poster presentations. All participants will receive certificates, and selected presenters will be given special recognition.

CBSE has urged schools to actively encourage their teachers and leaders to take part, saying such initiatives are important for preparing both educators and students for a more technology-driven future.
