CEE Kerala considering holding KEAM entrance test in CBT mode

NEW DELHI: The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) Kerala is mulling conducting the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) entrance exam for admissions to engineering and medical courses in computer based test (CBT) mode. The authority has invited Expressions of Interest (EOI) from agencies who conduct similar exams to get an idea.

“The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala invites Expression of Interest (EOI) from agencies having registered offices or branches in Kerala, capable of conducting Computer Based Test on a large scale in a professional manner for the Engineering Entrance Examination Kerala,” an official notification read.

CEE Kerala has asked the agencies to provide a document along with EOI containing details on exam phases, number of candidates, exam shifts, questions, exam centres, internet connectivity, etc. by April 13. A decision will be taken only after studying the possibilities of conducting an online test.

Some of the details sought by CEE regarding online examination include:

  • Separate descriptions about pre-exam phase, exam phase and post-exam phase.
  • Details regarding the National level Examinations conducted by the agency.
  • Brief note on the Competitive or job Oriented Examinations conducted for candidates.
  • Number of applications handled and number of applicants who attended the examinations.
  • Number of sets of questions and shifts used for conducting the exams
  • Details of exam centers in Kerala especially their district wise allocation.
  • Details regarding exam centers with reference to hardware, operating system processor speed, RAM Network and Keyboards, Software, LAN connectivity, Browser, Working condition of UPS and Generator which are to be included in the Center Audit.
  • Minimum requirement of Hardware, Software, Networking, Power Backup and Generator to be used in the Exam Center.
  • Qualifications and number of staff such as IT Manager, Invigilators, Support Staff and
  • other officials to be deputed in the exam centers.
  • Details regarding the mock test to be conducted on the previous day of exam using the actual test nodes.
