NEW DELHI: Clearing the uncertainty about end-term examinations, the Central University of Haryana (CUH) has decided to hold them between September 1 and 15. The exams will be in proctored online mode -- that is, written online at home but invigilated.

The Vice-Chancellor of CUH, RC Kuhad, had chaired the seven-member committee constituted by the University Grants Commission to recommend ways to hold exams and admissions and also redraw the academic calendar for universities. The first UGC guidelines came in April and the revised UGC guidelines, directing all universities to hold exams, on July 6.

CUH will provisionally promote the students of intermediate semesters as per the relaxation granted by the UGC guidelines and results will be declared by July 20.

Online exams and classes

According to CUH controller of examinations, Vipul Yadav, “Central University of Haryana is going to declare the provisional result of intermediate semester students on 20 July in accordance with the guidelines issued by UGC on April 29 and July 6.”

Yadav said that all eligible students will be given provisional promotions to their next semester. The online classes of all these students will start from August 1, and the university will notify the timetable for the online classes by July 20. All the information related to the examination and new session will be available on the university website.

The university is making all efforts for the conduct of examinations for final semester students as per the standard operating procedure (SOP) of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), from September 1 to 15.

Last week, MHA gave its go-ahead to the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) to conduct examinations for final-year students by September-end. It was followed by UGC issuing revised exam-related guidelines asking universities to hold final year examinations compulsorily by September end.
