Centre to expand INSPIRE MANAK, Vigyan Jyoti schemes in West Bengal schools, colleges

The centre has announced that these student-centric schemes will be implemented in West Bengal with "immediate effect" to boost participation of students in technology and space sectors.
The Centre has announced plans to expand student-centric schemes such as INSPIRE, INSPIRE MANAK, Vigyan Jyoti, KIRAN and WISE of the department of science and technology in schools and colleges across West Bengal. The objective of the schemes is to boost scientific temper, innovation and participation of students in space and technology sectors.
The decision took place when Jitendra Singh , Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for science and technology, earth sciences held a meeting with West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari in Kolkata.
During the meeting, it was decided that all major central schemes related to science, research, innovation and startups would be implemented in West Bengal with immediate effect, according to an official press release.

Rollout of Central Schemes Across WB Educational Institutions
“The integration of Central scientific schemes with educational institutions in West Bengal would help create a stronger pipeline for innovation, scientific learning and research-oriented talent development among the youth,” Singh said.
Explaining the importance of participation of research institutions and educational establishments in helping strengthen the state’s contribution to India’s expanding knowledge and innovation economy, Singh said: “The convergence of scientific institutions, academia, healthcare infrastructure and innovation ecosystems can create a new model of science-led regional development in Eastern India.”
Several directors and representatives of scientific institutions functioning under the Ministry of Science and Technology in West Bengal took part in the meeting.
The minister further stated that West Bengal possesses a strong scientific and academic ecosystem, with institutions under the Ministry of Science and Technology already functioning across the state and contributing to advanced areas of research.
He also added by saying that the state also holds enormous potential for scientific research, clinical trials and innovation-driven collaboration involving research institutions, medical colleges and healthcare networks.
