CFA Level 1, 2, 3 August 2024 registration starts at cfainstitute.org; important dates, exam pattern

NEW DELHI: The Chartered Financial Analyst Institute has started the registration process for CFA Level 1, 2 and 3 August 2024. Candidates can apply for the exams on the official website, cfainstitute.org.

The early registration deadline for CFA Level 1, 2 and 3 is January 23, 2024, while students will be able to register with invoice payment till April 4, 2024. The registration window will close on May 14, 2024.

Candidates will be able to schedule the exams till May 21, 2024. The rescheduling deadline is July 17, 2024. Candidates will have to pay a fee of USD 900 in case of early registration. The standard registration fee is USD 1,200.

Exam dates

The CFA Level 1 exam will be held from August 20 to 26, 2024 while CFA Level 2 will be conducted from August 27 to 31, 2024. The CFA Level 3 will be conducted from August 16 to 19.

The CFA Level 3 February 2024 will be conducted from February 15 to 18, 2024 while CFA 1 November 2023 is being conducted from November 11 to 17. The CFA Level 2 November 2023 will be held from November 18 to 22. These will be computer-based tests.

Exam pattern

In CFA Level 1, students will have to attempt 180 multiple choice questions (MCQs) in two sessions. They will have to answer 90 questions in 2.25 hours in each session. There will be no negative marking.

In CFA Level 2 candidates will have to attempt 88 MCQs in two sessions of 2 hours 12 minutes each. Those appearing for CFA Level 3 will have to answer vignette-supported essay questions and MCQs in 4 hours 24 minutes. Candidates will be awarded three marks of each correct answer.
