Class 10, 12 CBSE Board exams to be conducted between July 1 and 15

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the dates of remaining Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. The exams will be conducted between July 1 to July 15.

Union human resource development minister, Ramesh Pokriyal 'Nishank' tweeted, “long awaited the date of the remaining examinations of CBSE 10th and 12th, today the date of these examinations has been fixed between 1.07.2020 to 15.07.2020. I convey my best wishes to all the students who participated in this examination.”

The CBSE, on March 18, had rescheduled all examinations of Classes 10 and 12 scheduled between March 19 to March 31 due to the outbreak of COVID-19 epidemic. On April 1, CBSE instructed schools to promote all students between Classes 1 to 8 without conducting examinations. In the same circular, CBSE said that it was going to conduct exams only in the 29 most important subjects for Classes 10 and 12. Only students from north east Delhi, which saw riots in late February, will write the Class 10 exams.

Board exam dates

The CBSE is yet to announce the full schedule of the exams. However, they will be over before the high-stakes engineering and medical entrance tests - the JEE Main 2020 and NEET 2020 - start in the second half of July.

Dates for JEE Main and NEET were announced by Pokhriyal during a webinar with students on May 5. He later announced that JEE Advanced, the test for admission to the premier public engineering colleges, will be held on August 23.
