NEW DELHI: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has closed CLAT registration on June 15, 2021. However, the last date to submit the application fee has been extended till June 17, 2021 (11.59 pm). CLAT 2021 is scheduled to be held on July 23.
“The candidates who have submitted their application but not paid the fees, are allowed to make the payment and complete the ‘registration’ till 11:59 PM on Thursday, June 17, 2021”, reads the latest notification of CLAT Consortium.
The CLAT 2021 registration fee is Rs 4,000 for unreserved candidates, and Rs 3,500 for SC, ST and BPL category candidates. Candidates may also purchase the previous year papers of CLAT on payment of an extra Rs 500.
The consortium has advised candidates to finish application formalities well in time to avoid last-minute problems. For any queries regarding CLAT 2021, candidates may contact the helpdesk at the following address.
Now that the CLAT registration is closed, the consortium will allow candidates to change their test centre and select a nearby one; this is done in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Candidates are advised to select their nearest test centres in the order of preference.
CLAT is a national level law entrance exam that is conducted in offline, pen and paper format. The test was originally scheduled to be held on May 09, 2021, however, due to the now-cancelled CBSE Board exams dates and COVID-19 pandemic, the exam remained postponed till the new date was announced. There are around 2622 seats available in UG law programmes and more than 700 LLM seats that will be offered by participating NLUs through CLAT. The CLAT score will also be used by many other affiliated law schools for their admission process.
