CLAT 2024 correction facility ends today at consortiumofnlus.ac.in; exam pattern, syllabus

NEW DELHI: The consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will close the CLAT 2024 correction window today. Candidates will be able to edit their details such as name, date of birth, reservation eligibility and preferred exam centres through the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

Students who have initiated the registration process but not paid the fee, will have to deposit it by 11:59 PM today. The fee payment can be made only through online mode by debit card or credit card or net banking.

The national-level CLAT 2024 exam will be held for admission into undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes of 22 NLUs on December 3. Both the UG and PG CLAT 2024 exam will have 120 multiple questions (MCQs), which the students will have to attempt in 2 hours.

UG CLAT 2024 syllabus

The UG CLAT 2024 exam will be divided into five sections – English language, current affairs and general knowledge, legal reasoning, logical reasoning and quantitative techniques. The English section will have questions from passages of about 450 words each. The questions will require the candidates to demonstrate your comprehension and language skills.

The current affairs section will have questions related to contemporary events of significance, arts and culture, international affairs and historical events of continuing significance. In the legal reasoning section, candidates will have to attempt questions after reading passages of around 450 words each. The passages may relate to fact situations or scenarios involving legal matters, public policy questions or moral philosophical enquiries. Candidates will not require any prior knowledge of law to attempt the questions in this section.

Logical reasoning section will check the candidate’s ability to recognise an argument, its premises and conclusions; read and identify the arguments set out in the passage; critically analyse patterns of reasoning, and assess how conclusions may depend on particular premises or evidence. The questions will based on a 450 word passage.

The last section, Quantitative Techniques section of the UG-CLAT 2024 will include short sets of facts or propositions, or other textual representations of numerical information, followed by a series of questions.

PG CLAT syllabus

The PG CLAT 2024 exam will be based on the mandatory subjects of the undergraduate program and include constitutional law, jurisprudence, administrative law, law of contract, torts, family law, criminal law, property law, company law, public international law, tax law, environmental law, and labour and industrial law. In both the exams, candidates will be awarded one mark while .25 marks will be deducted for each wrong response.
